The Arundel shade is the tip of a sphere. Imagine slicing halfway between the top and the center. This emits more light, and that’s the same reason the machined base is quite tall. Higher up with less in the way.
Arundel began at a garage sale in Maine. Noticing this weird wok-like light on a swivel led to sandwiching a prototype between a base and the diffuser. It’s handsome, almost classic, and available in several combinations of finishes.
