Director of Operations

We’re looking for a leader and creative thinker to join our team full-time as the Director of Operations. This role is a great fit for someone who can clearly define strategies to optimize the growth of the studio and lead all aspects of operational consistency and efficiency in a fast-paced, creative environment. This person will report directly to and work alongside the Studio’s Co-Founders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning (70%)
• Design and implement the product development and launch calendar in collaboration with the Studio’s Co-Founders
• Ensure that internal and external teams are tracking toward product calendar timelines by establishing regular status updates and systems for accountability
• Constantly assess risks and opportunities and provide leadership in project pivots, realignments, and course-corrections
• Develop strategic roadmaps for increased synergy among processes and improve collaboration across all functions
• Partner with department leadership on transformational projects with a commercial performance mindset to drive business growth and best-in-class client experience
• Define and analyze company KPIs in partnership with the Studio’s Co-Founders and department leadership
• Own, manage, and optimize the production, manufacturing, and operations P&Ls

Team & Vendor Management (30%)
• Lead and guide a growing team overseeing procurement, inventory, production, shipping, and 3PL
• Ensure direct reports diligently manage external vendors and manufacturers to meet production timelines and business objectives
• Stay knowledgeable of all relevant industry compliance and policy procedures
• Spearhead effective workforce planning to attract and retain talent

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a senior leadership role in a field related to our industry
• Clear thinker and exceptionally organized to meet ambitious business goals and timelines
• Communicates with thoughtfulness and precision
• Ability to see the big picture with a flexible yet pragmatic approach to execution
• Successful track record in implementing new processes and systems with effective change management skills
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
• Adept at working cross functionally and amongst other high-achieving colleagues
• Strong working knowledge of industry regulations such as UL, ETL, CE, SASO, SAA
• Friendly and personable :)

Studio + Compensation

• This is a full-time position based in Gowanus, Brooklyn. 
• Studio hours are Monday - Friday from 9 am to 6 pm
• $125,000 - $175,000 annual salary based on experience
• Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, including 100% monthly premium coverage options for Employees of the studio.
